“Grub Fitzroy looks like an old yard from the outside, but the interior is full of surprises. You can tell by walking in there that a lot of details and thoughts have been put into the place. The weird and wonderful art around Grub makes it seem like you’ve been transported into a different world. There is really no place like it, it’s so different and breathes new life."
The silver Airstream van from the 60s manufactured in America is like a time capsule on wheels which gives such a retro vibe to the place. From the outside, this place looks like an overgrown green garden but when walking inside, it feels like you’ve stepped into a secret garden whose aesthetics feature lots of greenery and art which is out of this world.
The large shed in the greenhouse is full of various objects both odd and amazing. An old bathtub, headless dolls, an old children’s toy, just to name a few, which are probably the owner's own creative ideas. It is a combination of absurd and underground art and is a perfect reflection of the diversity that Melbourne has to offer.
The food and dining experience at Grub is warm and friendly. In the warmer months, the Silver RV provides drinks and food for happy campers who wander that way, and in the Autumn and Winter months, the front yard turns into an artwork haven decked out with tables and chairs, military style awnings and brightly coloured woven mats.
